It's time to ring in the new school year and that means Van Buren's annual Back to School Rally event is right around the corner. Find out how to support this year's event and help the more than 100 families currently at Van Buren get everything their children need to be ready for school. 

Empower Young Minds, Transform Lives!

In partnership with Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana's Operation Backpack, Van Buren's Back to School Rally provides families staying at the shelter with backpacks and school supplies for their children. In addition, at the event, families have access to onsite community resources, socks and underwear, medical services including physicals and vaccines, cotton candy and snow cones, and games and activities. 

This year, we need your help donating items from our Amazon Wishlist for the event, providing funds to sponsor the bounce house, or hosting a drive to donate new children's shoes or underwear. 

All of the volunteer slots for this year's event have been filled. We are so grateful for the incredible support and interest in volunteering at this annual event. You can sign up on our volunteer waitlist to be the first to know if an opening becomes available.
